Board Trusttee: Christina Corona

In It For The Long Haul

A native Austinite and fierce advocate for aspiring first-generation college graduates like herself, Christina became involved with Breakthrough Central Texas in 2014. Her involvement with the Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce connected her directly to local communities impacted by the organization, and the organization’s mission of helping students realize postsecondary success so deeply resonated that Christina quickly became a champion for Breakthrough students.

A dedicated, compassionate donor and volunteer at Breakthrough Central Texas, Christina has made a tangible impact on the organization’s growth, becoming a partner in our radical, long-term commitment to support students to and through college, unlocking the power of education and a lifetime of opportunity.

She is a founding member of the Breakthrough Honor Roll and formerly served on the Honor Roll steering committee, guiding a community of invested, caring partners to provide students with the tools, guidance, and encouragement they need to navigate the complicated process of preparing for, enrolling in, and graduating from college. Christina has been a steadfast donor for 10 years and is often among  the first to donate to campaigns, including the $10 million Breakthrough Challenge which helped the organization double the number of students it serves, pilot a new program serving all students at two local high schools, and launch a policy advocacy practice.

She joined the Board of Trustees in 2021, where she currently serves on the Executive Committee as Treasurer, as well as the Finance Committee and Strategic Planning Committee
