Participation in the online event is free, but you must pre-register using the button above to view the broadcast and participate in the silent auction. Or, just buy a raffle ticket for your chance to win a getaway for two! Learn more below. The Benefit Concert live stream begins November 4 at 6:45pm.

Each year, Central Texans come together to raise funds and support for Breakthrough’s mission of creating a path to and through college for first-generation college graduates. Because of COVID-19, the 2020 event was cancelled. But on November 4, we’re bringing live events back with the 2021 Breakthrough Benefit Concert hosted at 3Ten ACL Live. We’re excited to celebrate and support students pursuing their postsecondary dreams with a reception and program, followed by a show by Austin’s favorite Latin-Funk band, Grupo Fantasma!

The event begins at 6pm with an opportunity to engage with members of the Breakthrough community, including students, alum, program leadership, and other supporters. There will be a brief program with special guest speakers beginning promptly at 6:45pm. Please allow ample time for parking and check-in.

As sponsors and sponsor guests, you’re invited to enjoy passed appetizers, heavy hors d’oeuvres, and a hosted bar throughout the night. A formal meal will not be served.

  • Attire: Business casual/concert chic with comfortable shoes
  • Venue: 3TEN ACL Live (the smaller venue near the box office- not Moody Theater)
  • Setting: Indoor with open garage patio
  • Seating: Seating at this state-of-the-art, intimate venue is available, but limited.

Guests will be required to present their COVID-19 Vaccine Record Card or a photo of their COVID-19 Vaccine Record Card at the check in table in order to enter the event. Snap a photo of your vaccine card today to ensure smooth entry on event night!

In lieu of full vaccination, guests may present a negative Covid test administered within 72 hours of entry. Guests who do not have their Vaccine Record Card, a photo of their Vaccine Record Card, or a negative test within 72 hours will not be permitted to enter the event.

If you are not vaccinated and are concerned about securing a negative result, or if you’re feeling unwell on event night, we invite you to join the live broadcast of the event.

Please note: In our current Stage 3 of the City of Austin and Travis County’s Risk-Based Guidelines, health officials recommend some precautions for indoor gatherings. For that reason, we recommend but do not require masks for our guests. We encourage anyone who feels more comfortable to continue to wear masks, and we will have masks available for anyone who would like one.

3TEN is located downtown in the 2nd Street District at 310 W Willie Nelson Blvd.

We recommend rideshare as an alternative to parking downtown. Breakthrough is offering an exclusive Lyft Promo Code worth up to $15 in order for our guests to get to and from 3TEN. Please use the code BREAKTHROUGH2021 to redeem your credit.

To take advantage of the promo code, download the Lyft app for free on your phone from the Apple app store or Google Play store if you don’t already have it. Then, enter promo code BREAKTHROUGH2021 in the “Promos” tab within the app. Each guest can redeem the code one time, so if you ride with your partner or another guest, you can use the code each way. If your rides go over the Event Code amount, you will only have to pay the difference.

Visionary, Legend, and Presenting Sponsors will receive a voucher for complimentary parking at 211 W. San Antonio St. If other guests choose to drive, you may opt to use the lot at 211 W. San Antonio St. or the nearby City Hall self-parking garage, with access on Guadalupe. More information about arrival and parking is available on the 3TEN venue page.

A number of current students and alumni will be in attendance as guests to this year’s event- after all, the credit for their success belongs with them and their families. As part of the Breakthrough community, we are fortunate for the opportunity to partner with so many amazing students pursuing their dreams!

Certain students have chosen to attend as Student or Alumni Ambassadors, which will be indicated on their name tag. They are excited to meet you and share their Breakthrough journey to becoming first in their family to graduate from college. We know you will enjoy engaging in conversation and celebrating with them! Please also remember that sharing personal stories can be a vulnerable experience, and for some, this will be the first time attending a fundraising event. Breakthrough strives to uphold the ethical standard of “Do No Harm” within our community, which includes approaching students without judgement and respecting their boundaries. Thank you for helping us ensure a welcoming space!
