The 12-Year Experience

Each year Breakthrough Central Texas admits a new class of 280 6th graders in Manor and Del Valle and rising 7th graders in Austin ISD. In 2022, we will serve more than 3,100 students in grades six through college through our rigorous summer programs, extended learning, comprehensive advising and leadership experiences.

Are you a Breakthrough student athlete?

Join SWAAG. Students with academic & athletic goals (SWAAG). In addition to twelve years of comprehensive academic support, Breakthrough has also developed specialized advising and robust resources to support our student-athletes.  We recognize the importance of supporting student athletics and the direct relationship athletic success has with academic success.

Supporting Immigrant & Refugee Students (SIRS)

The Supporting Immigrant and Refugee Students (SIRS) working group strives to improve information sharing, advising, training for staff and community, community-engaged advocacy, and legal supports for serving those with diverse legal statuses. It is comprised of current BT CTX staff members and co-led by Arelis Palacios (palacios@breakthroughctx.org) and Will Davies (will@breakthroughctx.org).

Immigration Legal Aid

Immigrant students with an authorization letter from Breakthrough Central Texas can receive free legal advice from Catholic Charities at its Austin location. These services include a comprehensive initial consultation, advice on applying for and renewing DACA, TPS or other immigration visas and advice on many immigration legal matters by certified Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) lawyers.

Please contact your Breakthrough Advisor to obtain the authorization letter and information sheet for how to make an appointment with Catholic Charities.
