Harley is a Breakthrough 8th grader who has now spent two summers with Breakthrough. Here is how she described her Breakthrough Summer Experience:

“When I first heard of Breakthrough at school, I was a little afraid. They said they would help us become the first in our families to graduate from college. This excited me because my goal is to be able to help and support my mom throughout my career.  I knew that joining Breakthrough would be the perfect opportunity to help me reach that goal and become the first in my household to attend and graduate from college.

Going into my first Breakthrough summer I had no idea what to expect but for the past two summers I have enjoyed every bit of it. My Breakthrough teachers are so much fun, from my first summer to now, my teachers have so much energy and personality.

My dream is to study business in college and also enter a cosmetologist program so that I can own my own cosmetology line where I can work with cosplay and anime creators. Breakthrough has been here to help me decide what I want to do with my future. It is helping me become a better person, more social and confident. I am really glad to have made the decision to apply and become a part of the Breakthrough community.”
