12 YEAR EXPERIENCE SUPPORT
10TH GRADE LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE: Students attend a summer institute focused on developing communication, self advocacy and leadership skills by identifying goals that will help them on their path to college, learning about their rights as young people with the University of Texas Law School, and exploring potential careers.
11TH GRADE SUMMER INSTITUTE: Students take part in a number of workshops exploring career and college majors, learn about postsecondary options, build resumes, practice important skills aligned with their career interests, learn skills that support their mental health, and engage in internships around the community.
SENIOR INSTITUTE: Rising seniors prepare for the college application season by finalizing their college lists, completing essays and applications, and getting a head start on their FAFSA or TASFA before the start of their senior year.
AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMMING: Students have a safe space to drop in for academic enrichment, take part in book clubs and study groups, and bond with their peers through virtual games and team-building activities.
COLLEGE ADMISSIONS TESTING SUPPORT: Students receive support in registering and completing college admission tests, such as ACT and SAT, and are provided access to quality test preparation services.
FINANCIAL AID WORKSHOPS: Students and families attend workshops to learn about scholarship opportunities, student loans, and eligibility, and how to apply for financial aid.
COLLEGE APPLICATION PROCESS: Students and families work closely with an advisor and volunteer Application Coach to research, select, and apply to colleges and scholarships. Students also take part in several college campus visits.
COLLEGE PATHWAYS PROGRAM: Students conduct long-term planning toward their college goals and engage in visits across the country and engage in experiences to explore careers in a variety of fields.
SCHOOLWIDE POSTSECONDARY ADVISING PROGRAM SUPPORT
ONE ON ONE ADVISING: Breakthrough advisors serve each student, individualized advising as their go-to, knowledgeable, personal advocate and champion. Our professional advisors, work one-on-one with students through high school and college.
SEAL CAMP (SENIORS EQUIPPED AND LAUNCHED): Rising seniors prepare for the postsecondary application season by completing essays, application log-ins, resumes and getting a head start before the start of their senior year.
POSTSECONDARY EXPOSURES & EXPERIENCES: Students conduct long-term planning toward their postsecondary goals, visit colleges across the country and engage in experiences to explore careers in a variety of fields.
TUTORING SUPPORT: Students receive support to address a wide range of academic needs.
