Breakthrough Behind the Scenes is a quarterly series of conversations, hosted at our East Austin headquarters, where we pull back the curtain on our mission, featuring a different topic each quarter. You will learn about our innovative, long-term approach to creating first-generation college graduates, meet alumni and program leadership, and hear about ways to make a difference for our Breakthrough students and community.
This quarter’s special topic: We’ll explore how Breakthrough’s AmeriCorps Summer Teaching Fellowship is shaping the next generation of educators and community leaders. This summer, we will welcome nearly 120 Teaching Fellows who will lead their own classrooms and inspire our middle school students on their journey to becoming the first in their families to graduate from college. Through the Pathways to Opportunity Campaign, we are investing in this leadership development experience—providing invaluable field experience to more than 600 Summer Teaching and Student Advocacy Fellows that strengthens the pipeline of future educators and community leaders. Come learn more about what it means to be an AmeriCorps Summer Teaching Fellow and how the investment in this program directly supports our students’ success in school, college, and beyond.
