Our Breakthrough Saturday programs at St. Stephens Episcopal School and St. Andrew’s Episcopal School have commenced! This past Saturday, September 28, marked the first Breakthrough Saturday Program for the 2013-2014 school year. More than 200 middle school students attended, and well over 70 volunteers gave their time to support our students.
Breakthrough Saturdays provide students an opportunity to stay engaged in their academics outside of the traditional Monday through Friday classroom setting with interactive educational activities and essential college and career knowledge.
Throughout the year, our middle school students participate in collaborative learning projects alongside high school student mentors at these college preparatory high schools. The Saturday activities include mock college and career fairs, engaging guest speakers and much more. Stay tuned to the blog for details about these Saturdays throughout the year.
