On January 16, Breakthrough AmeriCorps members honored the legacy of Dr. King, by volunteering at Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore. AmeriCorps members helped with pricing, organizing merchandise, donations and displays. They joined hundreds of thousands of Americans across the country in a day of service.

The MLK Day of Service is led by the Corporation for National and Community Service, a federal agency that engages more than five million Americans in service through its AmeriCorps, Senior Corps, Social Innovation Fund, and Volunteer Generation Fund programs, and leads the President’s national call to service initiative, United We Serve. It shines a spotlight as a powerful force to bridge economic and
