Breakthrough’s Beat the Odds Benefit Concert featuring Dawes, Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Stubb’s Bar-B-Q

The VIP pre-concert party will be held in the Stubbs’ Amphitheater and begins promptly at 6pm.  Sponsors and preferred access ticket holders have access to this exclusive event, where you will have the opportunity to meet and hear from many of our students who are working hard to achieve their dreams of a college degree. This includes a brief program featuring inspirational stories from Breakthrough students and families at 6:30pm. Please allow ample time for valet parking and registration.

AN EVENT FOR OUR ENTIRE COMMUNITY

We are thrilled to offer this event to the entire Breakthrough community, including several Breakthrough students who will be in attendance.  For many, this will be their first time experiencing a fundraiser. They are excited to share more about their dreams and their experience as first-generation college aspirants. Sharing something personal, like aspiring to be the first in your family to graduate college, is a vulnerable experience. Thank you in advance for helping us create a safe and welcoming space for them. We are also honored to have many family members of Breakthrough students as our guests, as well as educators from many of the schools they attend. Second only to our students’ own determination, credit for their success goes to their families and teachers!

HELP OUR STUDENTS BEAT THE ODDS

In Central Texas, only 8% of middle school students from low-income communities go on to earn a college degree. To combat this trend, Breakthrough makes a 12-year commitment to help children become the first in their families to graduate from college. Our program focuses on a combination of extended learning, comprehensive advising, and leadership experiences to help students prepare for, persist through, and ultimately, graduate from college. From middle school to high school to college through college graduation, we are there every step of the way.

Breakthrough does whatever it takes to help our students beat the odds to become first-generation college graduates. And we cannot do it without you. By supporting Breakthrough, you’ll make a child’s dream of a college education come true.
